We're looking for an experienced Customer Sales Rep with an understanding of what it takes to bring on new customers at a 3PL/freight brokerage

Are you at a freight brokerage where every customer is already owned by someone who has been there for 15 years? Are you sick of being a small fish in a giant pond, where if a customer is in someone's name you can't call them, even if they're not getting freight? If you’re ready for a change and want to become a big fish in a small pond, Mark-it Express may be the right place for you!

We’re looking for an experienced Customer Sales Rep, (must have a book of business), who is looking to join a team where they will have a chance at substantial growth right away.

At this point in time, please do not apply if you’re looking to shift from an account coordinator or carrier sales rep to a customer sales rep. While we will be looking for motivated people wanting a change one day, right now we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running.

Customer sales responsibilities are:

  • Build real, strong, lasting relationships with shipping customers.
  • Make warm and cold calls, visit companies, and get a foot in the door.
  • Learn to keep up with the ever-changing market.
  • A true team player willing to jump in to help everyone achieve success.
  • Be honest with not only the team, but our carriers and customers.
  • Have a sense of urgency to provide our customers with the best possible service.

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma required.
  • B.A. in Logistics/Supply Chain, Business, or Marketing preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct 3PL customer sales experience.
  • Ability to think on your feet, evaluate all aspects of a situation to make a sound decision, creative problem solving skills, and remain calm in high pressure situations.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both written and orally, with both teammates and customers.
  • Must be able to prioritize, organize and multitask duties, shifting from one to another seamlessly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, along with basic computer skills, including typing.
  • Experience with McLeod Software is a plus.

This job is:

  • Full-time
  • Base salary + commission (salary based on experience (base salary range is $80k to $100k), plus uncapped commission without a draw!).
  • Monthly commission earned on dollar one (no draw or threshold to hit!)
  • The schedule is Monday through Friday (hybrid)
  • Possible weekend and/or night follow up or recovery needed but can be done from home.
